Your Use of RegattaWeb
By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these terms. They apply to all users — organizers, race committees, competitors, and spectators.
Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using RegattaWeb ("the Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
These terms apply to all users, including event organizers, race committees, competitors, and spectators accessing public event data.
Description of Service
RegattaWeb is a sailing event management platform that provides tools for creating and managing regattas, series, and race days. The Platform supports fleet, match, and team racing formats with features including event creation, entry management, race scoring, results publication, and competitor profiles.
User Accounts
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, provide false information, or engage in conduct harmful to other users or the Platform.
User Content and Data
You retain ownership of all content you submit to the Platform, including event details, race results, boat information, and profile data. By submitting content, you grant RegattaWeb a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute that content as necessary to operate the Platform.
You are responsible for ensuring that content you submit does not infringe on the rights of any third party and complies with applicable laws and regulations.
Event Organizer Responsibilities
Event organizers are responsible for the accuracy of event information, compliance with the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) as applicable, and proper management of their events. RegattaWeb provides tools to facilitate event management but does not assume responsibility for the conduct or outcomes of sailing events.
Organizers must ensure that their use of the Platform complies with the rules and regulations of their governing sailing authority.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent event data or results
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
- Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's infrastructure or services
- Use automated tools to scrape or extract data without permission
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Upload malicious code or content
Intellectual Property
The Platform, including its design, code, features, and branding, is the property of RegattaWeb and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Platform without prior written consent.
Availability and Modifications
We strive to maintain the Platform's availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time with reasonable notice.
We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Limitation of Liability
RegattaWeb is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, incorrect race results, or event management errors.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to RegattaWeb in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RegattaWeb, its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable arbitration rules.
