- Usage data — pages visited, features used, and interactions with the Platform
- Device information — browser type, operating system, and device identifiers
- Log data — IP addresses, access times, and referring URLs
How We Use Your Information

- Process event entries and publish race results

Public Information
Certain information is publicly visible by design. Published event details, race results, series standings, and competitor profiles are accessible to anyone, including search engines. This is core to the Platform's purpose of providing transparent sailing event results.
If you participate in a sailing event managed through RegattaWeb, your name, sail number, and race results may be publicly displayed as part of the event's official results.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Event organizers — to manage entries and communicate with participants
- Service providers — third-party services that help us operate the Platform (hosting, email delivery, weather data, AI processing)
- Legal requirements — when required by law, regulation, or legal process
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and regular security audits.
While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Event data and race results are retained indefinitely as part of the historical sailing record. You may request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us.
Cookies and Tracking
RegattaWeb uses session cookies to maintain your authentication state. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. Essential cookies are required for the Platform to function properly.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
- Request a portable copy of your data
Children's Privacy
RegattaWeb is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
